Social media is changing government

Indian government organizations are using the social media platforms to appeal to today’s netizens to build a relationship of trust with them. Though many political figures are withdrawing themselves from the social media sites finding themselves embroiled in controversies, many government organizations are making use of social media to the most to complete their tasks. The recent example is that of using social media for the 15th Census of India. Social media has been successfully used in this huge task of enumeration of population of India.

People using the government social media platforms have been pleasantly surprised by the prompt and ready updates and replies from the government agencies. As social media is about community building, the government seems to be utilizing all the social media tools available in having open dialogues with the citizens of the country and building a strong based relationship.
